[UPDATED April 6, 2011]
One valid entry per contestant.
There is no minimum age to enter. However, children 12 years of age and under must have a parent or legal guardian complete the registration form and submit their entries for them. PLEASE NOTE: Winners younger than 18 years of age must be accompanied by and have prizes redeemed by a parent or legal guardian. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
Submit your entry by April 5 at noon [DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL MIDNIGHT] to compete for prizes. Winners will be announced in the April 24 edition of the Seattle Times newspaper.
Entries will be judged on originality, creativity and presentation by a committee of Seattle Times staff. Two winners in an adults and children category will receive a grand prize and first place award. In addition, readers will select a Peeple's Choice winner in each division from a group of semifinalists, during a voting period from April 6 - April 13 (noon deadline). Peeple's Choice award winners are also eligible to win the grand prize or first prize, if selected as a winner by the judging committee.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Seattle Times cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning a Peeple's Choice award depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.
Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified. Readers may vote once per day during the voting period of April 6-13.
